tiptoe on over

This is the kitty who is so notoriously difficult to photograph when he’s out in the garden, making a beeline for the back door to get in out of the cold.  He’s practically walking on tiptoe here, none too experienced with the white stuff, which is a rarity around here.  His rigid stance was giving him a cute little waddle that I wish I could translate into a photograph for you.

(He has always been a plump cat, but the vet told me two weeks ago that after a half-pound weight loss this year, he now qualifies as “fair” and not “obese.”  That half-pound came from being able to run around and play outside, so it’s all thanks to F.’s intervention.)

I’ll be out of town for the rest of this weekend, giving you plenty of time to tiptoe on over to the new blog and check it out.  Don’t worry, Victory Garden Redux is not going to disappear all at once.  It will be a gradual move because really, big, sudden change is not my thing.

Hopefully we will not all feel as Booty did after his adventure in the snow, coming inside with much fastidious shaking of his little paws, as if to say, “No, thank you!”

  1. He’s so cute, tiptoeing through the snow! My Annie tends to waddle, she’s never seen snow so I don’t know how she’d act. I tell her we’re going to have to strap a skateboard under her to keep her belly from dragging on the ground. I’m hoping the squirrels will be out and about when we get home, she needs the exercise she gets from chasing them out of the gardens.

For some reason, I cannot comment on your new blog. Oh, nevermind…it works for me now! so I’ll go comment 😉

    • Annie, I’m sorry to hear you had trouble commenting at the new site. Let me know if it gives you any more hiccups, and I’ll keep an eye out for you there. 🙂

The image of Annie with a skateboard strapped to her middle made me fizz with laughter! But I also need to get back my spring/summer energy and exercise level — too bad I don’t chase squirrels; we’ve got plenty of them!
